MPulse TU Tunnel Detectors

Metal separators for conveyor belts are electronic devices for detecting the presence of unwanted metal contamination in a product moving along a conveyor. Representing a new generation in metal detection technology, the Mpulse TU metal detector removes metal contamination caused by broken crusher blades, inadequately maintained machines, reycling plastics, normal wear and tear during the production process. Installed around, under and above the conveyor belt, this model can handle larger products that range in height from 100 to 800 mm and in width from 400 to 2500 mm. Using a floating contact, the operator simply switches off the conveyor belt or reverses it to remove the contaminated product.

Special Features

The Mpulse TU is extremely flexible when it comes to the width and height of the objects it can scan. Using superior software, this metal detector also eliminates any product effect caused by something in the product being scanned. This increases the accuracy of the metal detector and its sensitivty to metal. Since the tunnel detector completely surrounds any object that passes along the conveyor, the TU model can detect metal at greater distances compared to other standard models.

This tunnel detector consists of two detector plates forming a tunnel above and below the conveyor belt. This makes it possible to reverse the belt when metal is not removed successfully. The belt can run back and forth until there is no metal left in the product stream. Constructed with high grade stainless steel, the Mpulse TU is easy to operate and maintain, and can detect many different kinds of metals from zinc to aluminum, copper, and high-grade steel.

The New Generation in Metal Detecting Technology

The product effect blanking out of the detectors was refined further. Especially the electric conductivity of the black plastic products in influencing the measurement signals of the metal detector. Only if these signals are precisely characterisized and filtered, even the smallest metallic particles can be found in such products. This precision of product effect blanking out is achieved by digial sensor processor technology of the latest generation.In practical use, settings of metal detectors often need to be checked quickly and reliably during running applications. That is why great value was attached to user friendly operation.

The software is self-explanatory and leads the operator step by step through the setup process. A LED bar indicates the quantity of the product effect and the metal detection threshold. The unit is operated by a foil keyboard at the outer side of the control cabinent.

The tranducer amplification is automatically adpated to the product. In cases where the product has both high and low product effects scanned by the same metal detector, the unit will automatically select the optimum amplification.
